Congratulations to Maisie Whittall, on winning the British Junior Golf Tour U18 Girls Gross Division 2022!

The BJGT Tour Championship Finals were held at Farleigh Golf Club on Sunday 16th October, where the top 3 players in the girls’ gross and girls’ net divisions qualified to play the finals.  Going head-to-head over 18 holes to try to claim the final Order of Merit points, Maisie continued her fine form and shot gross 74 (+2 over par) and won the U18s girl’s gross final by just 1 shot.

Having trailed just behind the leader through the front 9, Maisie played -2 under par (bogey-free) from the 8th hole onwards and claimed the Tour Championship win!  Maisie’s birdie on the 17th hole moved her up the leaderboard into first place, which she held onto with a par on the final hole to secure the win by the narrowest of margins. Maisie’s net score of 73 also tied the lead in the Girls U18 Net division, which saw Maisie take the runner-up spot on countback.

The win in the finals secured her place at the top of the season Order of Merit, where she claimed her BJGT Tour Championship title in the Girls U18s Gross Division.  Her net performance in the final also secured her 3rd place in the net OOM division too!

This marks a fine end to Maisie’s 2022 season, where she has also recently been selected for England Golf’s West Midlands Regional U18 Girls Squad for the second year running.
