Gaudet Luce Golf Club held their 2022 junior open on Sunday 22^nd May, and in stark contrast to last year this year saw fine weather for our junior open.

The 18 hole event was a County Order Of Merit event for both boys and girls, and a Justin Rose Telegraph Junior qualifying event too, and alongside many generous sponsored hole prizes kindly sponsored by our committee, club members and supporters, this ensured that plenty of prizes, trophies and accolades were up for grabs.

Our own home players put in a fine display again this year, with both the boys net, girls net, and 9-hole stableford 1^st places all claimed by Gaudet Luce players:

Leo Edwards put in a superb back 9 performance which included 3 gross birdies to card a fantastic net 67 and win the boys net event by 1 shot.  Sophia Harris put in a fine performance for the girls and won the girls net event with a net 67 by a clear 3 shots.  In the 9 hole event Jake Tipper dominated the scoring with a fine 28 points to win by 5 points to Josh Wood’s otherwise fantastic score of 23 points in 2^nd place.  Our own Sydney Blanchenot also continued her now-regular podium finish form too with a net 70, just missing out on 2^nd place by virtue of countback.

• Boys Net 2^nd: Jack Price (Hollywood GC) – 68 (runner-up on countback)
• Boys Net 3^rd: Thomas Gilbert (Halesowen GC) – 68

9 Hole event – mixed:

• Winner: Jake Tipper (Gaudet Luce GC) – 28 points
• Runner-up: Josh Wood (Gaudet Luce GC) – 23 points

Our Junior Event would not be able to go ahead without the energy and enthusiasm of our Junior Committee, and our volunteer members who generously gave up their time to support our Junior Open by supervising, organising, donating, and helping.  We also wish to thank Gaudet Luce Golf Club’s Management team, who worked tirelessly with their greenkeeping staff to ensure this event could go ahead.
