Congratulations to Maisie Whittall from our junior section on winning the Girls 14-15 category at the Daily Mail World Junior Golf Championship held last week in Spain.

Played at the Villa Padierna resort in Estepona, on the incredibly challenging Alferini course, Maisie managed to finish tied for 1^st place after 54 holes to force a sudden death play-off against Italian player Matilde Modesti. Maisie pulled back a 4-shot deficit in the final round, to see both players return to the 1^st hole to decide the winner.

Maisie had birdied the 1^st hole earlier in the day, and was confident – and in the playoff, Maisie managed to birdie the first hole again to secure the win.

Well done Maisie, and a great start to the 2024 season!
