On Sunday 3rd October the Gaudet Luce Juniors played in the Central Warwickshire League finals against Olton. The match was played at Copt Heath golf club which was in superb condition. In the first match both Maisie Whittall and Amelia Bryan were in fine form and were one up on the 1st. The match was in the balance until a beautiful birdie on the 13th by Maisie saw the girls go 3 up and shortly afterwards Amelia sank the winning putt on the 16th to win the match 3&2.

In the second match our captain Mark Hewlett Junior was playing with Teddy Fee. Gaudet were down in the match early on but a nice par on the hardest hole on the course by Teddy started the comeback. Mark was then on a hot streak and Gaudet were soon 2 up. This was the closet match of the three and went down to the 18th all square.

After the Olton pair secured their par putts Mark had a chance to birdie the last and win the match. His putt had the perfect pace but just missed the edge of the hole and the match was halved. In the final match Alex Perry was partnered by Harry Evans.

A regular and successful partnership in county golf and they started on top with a great par from Harry on the first. After a birdie from Alex on the par 5 7th Harry then put his second shot a foot away on the 8th to secure another birdie and put the boys 5up through 8 holes. The Olton pair came fighting back but Alex held a 20ft putt on the 17th to win the match 2&1 and start the Gaudet celebrations.

This season the team have also been represented by Sophia Harris, Mollie Ralphs, Alex McVeigh, Ben Lazenby, Niamh Bush, Sydney Blanchenot and Nathan Wood. They have a 100% record in the Central Warwickshire league and we would just like to say a huge well done to all the juniors involved.
